You’re Not Too Much: Healing the Wounded Masculine from the Inside Out
Mar 26, 2025There’s a phrase I’ve heard from countless men over the years—spoken quietly, almost apologetically:
“I’ve always been told I’m too much.”
Too emotional.
Too intense.
Too quiet. Too deep. Too sensitive. Too spiritual.
If you’ve heard this message—directly or indirectly—you’re not alone.
But I want to say something loud and clear:
You are not too much. You were never too much.
You’ve simply been carrying unprocessed pain inside a system that doesn’t know how to hold your depth.
And that pain? It’s not your fault. It’s the result of the wounded masculine—a legacy we’re finally being called to heal.
What Is the Wounded Masculine?
The wounded masculine isn’t about men being broken—it’s about men being conditioned.
From a young age, most men are taught to suppress, deny, or perform.
Don’t cry. Don’t feel. Don’t need anything. Be strong. Be successful. Be in control.
But these commands come at a cost:
-
Emotional disconnection
-
Suppressed grief and anger
-
Shame around vulnerability
-
Difficulty expressing love or receiving it
-
Anxiety, depression, or numbness
-
Explosive reactions that seem to come out of nowhere
Over time, men internalize the message: Something is wrong with me.
But the truth is, there’s nothing wrong with you.
You’ve simply never been given the tools to understand and integrate what you feel.
That’s the wound. And it’s not just individual—it’s generational.
My Own Journey Through the Wound
There was a time when I believed I had to earn my place in the world by being perfect, composed, and endlessly competent.
I took pride in being “together.”
But underneath that calm surface, I carried a storm of emotion I didn’t know how to name.
Sadness. Loneliness. Rage. Spiritual longing.
I didn’t know where to put it, so I buried it.
Until it started showing up in my body, my relationships, and my energy.
It wasn’t until I began facing that pain—with compassion instead of judgment—that healing began.
That’s when I stopped hiding behind performance… and started living from presence.
That’s also when I started helping other men do the same.
Signs You’re Carrying the Wounded Masculine
This wounding shows up in different ways for different men, but some common signs include:
-
Difficulty asking for help
-
Fear of being seen as weak
-
Overworking or constant striving
-
Emotional shutdown or outbursts
-
People-pleasing or performing for approval
-
Feeling like no one really gets you
-
Longing for purpose, but unclear on direction
Sometimes it’s loud. Sometimes it’s subtle.
But the core feeling is the same: “I’m not enough as I am.”
“Egan helped me release negative feelings I didn’t even know existed. I learned to be at peace in an uncertain world… and to stop trying to control everything outside of me.”
— Chip C., Virginia
You Don’t Need Fixing—You Need Integration
Healing the wounded masculine isn’t about becoming someone else.
It’s about bringing the fractured parts of yourself back together.
The emotional part.
The intuitive part.
The strong part.
The spiritual part.
The loving, fierce, sensitive, wise parts of you that were always meant to coexist.
In the Path to Power, I guide men through a journey of deep reclamation. We don’t just talk about healing—we embody it.
Here’s how it works:
The Path to Healing from the Inside Out
🔹 1. Emotional Safety First
Before healing can happen, the body must feel safe. We use grounding techniques, breathwork, and presence practices to regulate the nervous system and restore calm.
🔹 2. Shadow Integration
You can’t heal what you avoid. We gently explore the unexpressed emotions, old stories, and suppressed energies that have been running the show in the background of your life.
🔹 3. Rewriting the Inner Script
So many men carry shame from things they were never responsible for. We shift those inherited beliefs and create new patterns rooted in truth, strength, and self-respect.
🔹 4. Anchoring in Embodied Power
This isn’t just mindset work. It’s spiritual and energetic. You’ll learn how to hold your own power with grace—no longer shrinking, hiding, or reacting from old wounds.
“Egan’s intuition and techniques helped me find a more effective voice as a writer, and as a man. He helped me reconnect to my creative flow and inner truth.”

Reclaiming the Sacred Masculine
The Sacred Masculine is not aggressive.
It’s not performative.
It’s not emotionally shut down.
It is present.
It is clear.
It is strong because it is connected.
You’ve probably always felt this part of yourself—it’s the quiet voice that says:
“There’s more to me than what the world sees.”
“I want to live from truth, not obligation.”
“I’m ready to lead—but I want to do it differently.”
That voice isn’t fantasy. It’s memory.
It’s the part of you that remembers who you really are beneath the armor.
A Message for the Man Who Has Always Felt “Too Much”
If you’ve been told you feel too deeply, speak too directly, love too intensely, care too much…
What they were really saying was:
“You make me uncomfortable because I haven’t accepted those parts in myself.”
You are not too much.
You are full-spectrum.
You are divine in motion.
Your sensitivity is sacred.
Your depth is your strength.
Your power is found in your presence—not your performance.

Final Thoughts: You Are Already Enough
Healing the wounded masculine isn’t about becoming a “better” man.
It’s about remembering the powerful, sensitive, intuitive, grounded being you’ve always been—and learning how to walk in the world from that truth.
You don’t have to keep carrying the weight alone.
You don’t have to keep hiding the parts that make you unique.
You don’t have to keep pretending you’re fine.
There is another way.
And it starts with one step—toward your healing, your wholeness, your power.
